At St Francis, we deliver an engaging and relevant curriculum based on a love of God, each other and creation. At St Francis we offer a variety of learning opportunities for our Children. We know that learning happens best when children are happy, safe and have positive relationships with others. In delivering the New Zealand Curriculum we integrate our Special character and ensure that our school and Gospel values of Love, Respect, Truth and Faith are at the heart of all we do. We acknowledge that children come from culturally diverse backgrounds and deliver the New Zealand curriculum in a way where all children and whanau have a sense of belonging and ownership. Religious Education is integrated into all learning at St Francis. We learn about our faith through reading, writing, drama and yes sometimes even mathematics! We are proud to be a Green Gold Enviro school and take the role of being Kaitiaki of God's creation very seriously. We have a thriving worm farm, several vege gardens and and an active Trees for survival programme. Children learn about how to take care of our waterways, native trees and much more. We love being active. Sport is a great way for children to be challenged, build relationships and show our values. We offer a wide variety of sporting opportunities from sailing to annual camps. We are working hard to ensure our children are involved in as many sporting opportunities as possible. |
